Again, most agents get upwards of 300 queries a week and dealing with queries is a very, very small part of what they do. You can't let dealing with an assistant be a big deal and it was a partial, not a full. The agent may never have seen it as many use their assistants as first readers. Rejections sucks, but I went through about 300 to find the right agent and the best revenge is a book deal and the right agent.

Very brief form rejection on requested partial. Not even from the agent herself, but from her assistant. Talk about hands-off and unhelpful. Yeah, maybe I'm bitter, but I'm ok with the assistant sending form rejections on queries, but on requested materials? I think at the very least, it should be signed as the agent (even if the assistant is the one clicking 'send' on the form rejections). It would just look better and maybe make you feel less like you're being dismissed like a mosquito.

Rant over. At least they responded fairly quickly.
