About QueryTracker

Let QueryTracker tell you more about this literary agent. Including...

  • Query Response Times
  • Genres of Interest
  • Preferred Manuscript Lengths
  • The Best Time to Query
  • And More
And best of all, it's FREE.

How it works?

Writers provide data about their query experiences with literary agents.

That data is then compiled into reports showing details about each agent's query history, allowing writers to reach the literary agent that is right for their book.

Why is QueryTracker Free?

QueryTracker is free because it is our goal to collect as much data as possible about query letter results.

To do that, we need as many members as possible to submit their data, and the best way to do that is to make it free.

So please, join us in building the web's largest collection of query data.

Agents, please contact us to make any changes to your profile.

Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

"Dear Author:

Thank you so much for sending the Nelson Literary Agency your query. We'd like to apologize for the impersonal nature of this standard rejection letter. On average, we receive nearly 500 email query letters a week and despite that, we do read each and every query letter carefully. Unfortunately, this project is not right for us. Because this business is so subjective and opinions vary widely, we recommend that you pursue other agents. After all, it just takes one "yes" to find the right match.

Good luck with all your publishing endeavors."

Form rejection for commercial comedy.

I gleaned from old Pub Rants that the agency has software that harvests the emails with QUERY in the subject and places them in the program for review, and then if they pass they just click a button that sends the rejection. So don't take it personally if you get the form letter; Kristin is a highly coveted agent and she must click that button hundreds of times a day!

I had re-queried Kristin after reading her Pub Rants and improving my old query. She sent me a personalized rejection saying that I had improved my query, but it still wasn't what she was looking for. She sent my query along to Sara, who also sent me a personalized rejection saying that she was sorry and that she had wanted it to work out. Even though they were both rejections, Kristin and Sara seem incredibly nice and I would have loved to work with them!
