About QueryTracker

Let QueryTracker tell you more about this agent. Including...

  • Query Response Times
  • Genres of Interest
  • Preferred Manuscript Lengths
  • The Best Time to Query
  • And More
And best of all, it's FREE.

How it works?

Writers provide data about their query experiences with agents.

That data is then compiled into reports showing details about each agent's query history, allowing writers to reach the agent that is right for their work.

Why is QueryTracker Free?

QueryTracker is free because it is our goal to collect as much data as possible about query letter results.

To do that, we need as many members as possible to submit their data, and the best way to do that is to make it free.

So please, join us in building the web's largest collection of query data.

Agents, please contact us to make any changes to your profile.

Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

I send query, synopsis and 3 chapters in the body of the email. If they like, they keep reading; if they don't like, they stop. I rarely get requests for partials, either "no" or "full".

Hope it helps.

What materials are people sending to Mr. Barbara? It says on the Foundry website to query with a synopsis+3 chapters and a SASE, but Mr. Barbara only accepts e-queries so that can't be quite right. On agent query, it says to copy in the first 5 pages, but I don't know how recent that information is. Thoughts?

"Thanks kindly for thinking of Stephen for WE WERE NOT HERE. While we found it promising, I’m sorry to say it’s not a good fit for Stephen’s list at this time. We wish you much luck placing it with the right agent and publishing home, all the same."

Well, it is "promising" (for a first novel).

thank you, angelscribe, I will do that. Once I've recovered from this round of Rs, lol. I'm no stranger to this process, but I haven't been through it in a while, and I almost forgot how soul-sucking it is. It's nice to have this place where you can share the madness with others in the same boat.

K Knight, if you get a R from Stephen, you can try someone one else here for better luck. I do it all the time. I would wait a month before I do, if I were you.
