About QueryTracker

Let QueryTracker tell you more about this literary agent. Including...

  • Query Response Times
  • Genres of Interest
  • Preferred Manuscript Lengths
  • The Best Time to Query
  • And More
And best of all, it's FREE.

How it works?

Writers provide data about their query experiences with literary agents.

That data is then compiled into reports showing details about each agent's query history, allowing writers to reach the literary agent that is right for their book.

Why is QueryTracker Free?

QueryTracker is free because it is our goal to collect as much data as possible about query letter results.

To do that, we need as many members as possible to submit their data, and the best way to do that is to make it free.

So please, join us in building the web's largest collection of query data.

Agents, please contact us to make any changes to your profile.

Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Near-future Thriller, 104k

Provided a very nice, helpful, customized rejection letter. Not a form. Said she liked the world and the writing, but wasn't thrilled with where the plot went. Encouraged me to query other agents. I mailed a polite thanks back and said I was thinking about revising, and she said if I did, she'd like to see it again. I mailed the full back on 7/21 and got a "Thanks, I'll check it out" email a few days later.

Received an offer of representation from another agent on 9/12/14. Contacted Marlene to let her know. She graciously stepped aside, saying she wasn't going to be able to get to the MS within the next week and that it would be unfair to the other agents who have it to delay. Minorly bummed just because it's tough to get so far with a superstar agent and then not get an offer, but excited about the other opportunity and ready to move forward! All the best to Marlene -- she was awesome and very communicative through the whole process.

@almostgrace: I'm gonna echo zeldamar -- congrats on taking the plunge! I'm sure the rejection wasn't what you were hoping for, but putting yourself out there is the first crucial step that many are too afraid to take.

Good luck with future submissions!

Well, almostgrace, I'm sorry about the rejection, but congratulations on the milestone! It is indeed nice to get that one over and done.
