Queried on 27 March: literary novel. Received form rejection the same day. Fast!

Patrick: Web site and AAR listing now says e-mail preferred. "For queries, we prefer email submissions.
You may submit your work to this address - info@doecooveragency.com. Mailed submissions are also fine, but must include a self-addressed envelope with correct return postage."

Also, they request the first 50 pages. "For fiction we prefer to receive a query consisting of a detailed synopsis of the novel and the first 50 pages. Please include an author biography as well."

Form rejection letter. Get the feeling they didn't even bother to look at it. This make rejection 19. The idea that they just replied without even looking at it really frustrates me.

This is the second time I've gotten a fast turnaround in queries. According to GLA, they rep thrillers. But not here or at AQ, they mentioned. I've gotten a rejection from Frances Kennedy, after 4 hours I sent the query. That was fast. They stated, it didn't fit their needs.

On 4/6, I sent her a query for Chain Reaction. Today I've heard back from her: it doesn't seem right for her list.
