That's awesome! Nice pitch to it too - I can't imagine how much brainstorming and tears it took to reduce your whole book to that one perfect sentence on PM. So glad that all of your hard work paid off for you.  wine

My original PM pitch was too long. Kathy, Eric and I ended up batting it back and forth until it got distilled down to one line. I am terrible at pitches!

I'm waiting on official word from an agency, and they asked me to give them a 4-6 sentence pitch. Even THAT was hard so I can't imagine reducing 80K or whatever your book was to 25 or less. That's something you celebrate completing with a big ole drink!

That's what I was wondering too!?!  I was scouting around seeing if I could find her blog or site.  People really need to be more forthcoming.  *scowls*  Nancy Drew, I am not.

Whose blog? We're all such stalkers.  naughty

I can't say anything just yet - my dream agency expressed great interest in an R&R (they wrote me three single spaced pages of ideas and changes they wanted), and asked for a pitch, and the assistant has read it (a "fantastic improvement")... but I've been literally waiting 6 months for the official word so I'm not getting my hopes up. Arrrrglebarrrgle....

Here's the killer part - they said a "couple weeks" initially, and when I check in periodically, they say "a couple weeks."

There's a 30 Rock episode where Liz Lemon is grounded on a plane. The pilot is her boyfriend, Matt Damon, and he has a whole philosophy about how you tell passengers "30 minutes" will be the wait time because it's long enough that they know they have to wait, but not too long that they make a fuss. They're Matt Damoning me!

Anyone else here getting Matt Damoned?

@mmmpancakes - they are making you abundantly virtuous (re: your patience).  I hope it all turns out exactly the way you want it to.  [I can't complain about the Matt Damoning - yet.  My definition of 'soon' apparently differs from some other folks - but not six months]

Thanks Claire!

Mmmpancakes, now it feels like they're Matt Damoning the entire QT community via your book. C'mon!  rant
Well, in the meantime, fingers crossed for you!

The story is super crazy - I'm really hoping I get to share it, because it seriously breaks every rule for how things are supposed to happen.

This does suck for now, however. We will assume I am learning and growing as a person during this process.
