No this person does not know me but I got a 5 star review!  YAY!  I am sooo excited.  I know that indy authors are being torpedoed on Amazon though so hopefully my one lowly review will keep me off the radar for a bit.  I am giddy!  It is great to know that at least one person (outside my friends and fam) likes what I wrote!

 clap  YAY!!!

I am absolutely riding the wave of elation, still get a little giddy when I see that on my author central page (and yes, I admit that I have logged in just to see that review).  I am hopeful for some more to follow.

It's kind of like running out to the garage every few hours as a kid after you got that shiny new bike; you know it's there, but you want to keep looking at it because something in you still can't believe you got it.  Yes

Congrats! I am sure it feels good. Also, I am curious what do you mean about Amazon torpedoes indies with good reviews. Why do they want to do that? The more you sell the more profit they have, right?

There has been a lot of conversation with some readers putting VERY negative reviews on some of the more successful indy authors' pages.  I have seen it done to a few people now.  It is not Amazon but Amazon doesn't do much to protect the author from such things and then there are some foolish authors who lash back at the reviewer which is never good practice.  I was shocked when I started promoting on Amazon's forums and found myself in the middle of several arguments about indy authors and their "shameful self promotion."  A big reason why I like this forum is that there is a lot of support and it is nice to have a reprieve from the trenches where I can say "hey, i got 5 stars" and get a pat on the back rather than somebody saying "well, let me just read your sample and trash your book based on the sample just so you lose your 5 star review."

Not that it happens all the time, but I have seen it more than once.

BUT, this thread is me being happy so I refuse to dwell on negativity  Grin

ANOTHER 5 star review!!  Maybe I did write something other people will relate to!  So what if I only have three reviews.  I can feel good about having a 4 star and two 5 stars and none of them being fake or from family!!   Somebody read my book and thought it was something special, make that three somebodys!!!  Just had to share with the awesome people who helped me get going!!!
