I love you guys. Seriously. Without this kind of support, I'd have hung up my publication dreams long ago.
I think for me, I haven't had something so harsh said about my writing since my AP English class in high school. So now I need to put on my big girl underwear, process the criticism, and figure out how the eff to improve my pacing. :/

Another pal of mine got her review and it pretty much only said it was an absurd plot. Where does she even go with that?

So now I need to put on my big girl underwear, process the criticism, and figure out how the eff to improve my pacing. :/ Caveat, I'm commenting in a blatant absence of big-girl drawers, (go figure) but I think the principle is the similar. You have people commenting (sometimes with the intention of helping and sometimes simply to get their ya-ya's off being critics) in total candor. It's like a boxing match. You learn from the hits that jar you and shake off the ones that have no effect. But to win you gotta get in the ring. |
