Gang: Could someone kindly set out a format for a nudge?  I mean something really, really simple for yours truly to follow, like Sentence about X, Sentence about Y, Sentence about Z, very truly yours etc.  I'd be ever so grateful...Thanks!

Dear Agent

My name is [name] and I sent out a query/partial/full for [novel] on [date] and I am wondering if you have recieved it/had time to read it/had made a decision/whatever your reason. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

I think that is fairly basic. You don't have to get too fancy but always make sure you include your name, the title of your book, and the date you sent it out on. Makes things easier to find.

Here is an exact example of something I sent:

Dear Ms. _____,

Thank you for taking the time to consider my submission of Soul Stalker. You requested the partial and synopsis in February, which I sent as a word document. I was wondering if you have had the chance to review it or whether my original submission simply hadn't made it to you.

I will be happy to provide any further information or answer any questions you may have.

Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
