I'm looking for something different to read, and thought I'd try this genre. Anyone have any good recommendations? Also, mystery books with food in them, like based out of a bed and breakfeast, or where the mc runs a restaurant or bakery. Thanks!

My favorite cozy mysteries are in the Aunt Dimity series, by Nancy Atherton.  I love those books!

Food cozies.  Hm.  Riley Adams has a new series I enjoy, where the MC owns a barbeque joint.  (She *might* have written it as Elizabeth Span Craig, her other/pen? name.)  I can't remember the titles, though, and I loaned them to my mom.

Mysteries are my favs.  I love Terri Blackstock, hers are Christian-oriented mysteries but really, really good.  I love Mary Higgins Clark (I had read all of them and was happy to find one at the bookstore that I hadn't read), Kathy Reichs, I would consider "mysteries" but as she is a forensic scientist, they have that aspect in as well.  She is the one the t.v. show "Bones" is based on.  Also, it's cool in her books, she is in (as a Professorat UNCC) Charlotte, NC (where I live) and also works in Canada on different cases.  Iris Johansan has some interesting ones. (btw, I don't think that's how her name is spelled).  Ted Dekker is also a Christian writer and is very good.  I'm sure I can come up with some more but as a 7th Grade Language Arts teacher, I have to spend a certain amount of time reading adolescent literature (Lois Duncan comes to mind).  I've also read a two books by Tama French (I think) that I thought were pretty good.  Hope this helps.
