I had a question. If you query an agent but they reject you but give you good advice is it okay to send them an email back thanking them for the advice??? Thanks Smiley

Absolutely, if you you are professional and brief. I'd put "Thank you" in the subject line.

eh, i usually don't. It just fills up their inbox. And a lot of agents have interns and assistants who man that box so the agents usually don't even see those emails.
BUT, to each their own. If you want to, go ahead

Normally,I would say no. I've read a lot lately about agents not wanting anymore stuff in their inbox, BUT if an agent took the time to give you some advice and not just send a form rejection, I don'y think they would mind. It can't hurt.

I've only done it twice, and it was when they took the time to send me something more than a standard rejection. I got some great advice that helped me make my novel stronger, even though the agent wasn't interested in seeing the revisions. Oh, well. But I thanked her anyway, because she took the time to do me a favor and pay me a compliment.
