I want to submit my query for critique but first I have to submit the first five pages. The problem with that is the first five pages is the prologue can I submit more than five pages or should I skip the prologue all together and submit the next five?

SKip the prologue and start with the first five of chapter one. Kristin Nelson said to do so with your query in a blog post....er, last week?

You don't need to submit HERE before you submit your query for critique...er, right? I don't think I've ever posted a first-five.

Don't submit a prologue. I have come across plenty of agents who have said 'NO PROLOGUES'. Just start with the first five/ten/twenty/whatever pages from Chapter One.

Oh, and you can submit your query to the Query Review section and the First Five to the First Five Pages section. There is also an Opening Sentence/Paragraph section!

How important is the Prologue? Is Chapter 1 going to make sense without it? Could you call the Prologue Chapter 1, or dispense with it altogether?

Just some thoughts in light of the oft quoted 'agents don't like prologues' thing Smiley

Good luck with the pages and the query!
