Hello! I'm a 33-year-old woman new to the forum. I have an MFA in creative writing and am currently trying to get an agent for my first book, a memoir. Are there any other memoir or nonfiction writers out there?

Welcome to the QT forums, welcome karma to you, =)  Fiction writer myself, but I imagine there are lots of non-fiction/memoir writings around here as well!

Welcome to QT, green.  Here's you 5th karma.  Good luck w/your memoir.  I'm strictly fiction - running the gamut from MG to adult.

Welcome!

I write fiction, but have a friend around your age who's working on a memoir. Check out http://theyearofexploration.blogspot.com/

Welcome to QT! I write adult fiction, but this forum is sure to have other memoir writers. Glad to have you and Karma coming your way.

Well, the first question is: what is your memoir going to be about? What makes it special or of interest to certain [or all] sectors of society?

Once you've determined that, check out Alternate Write Water Cooler.com and find the thread dealing with nonfiction proposals.
When you got that done, check out the main Query Tracker website and find agents who deal in the area you've concentrated your work.

Good luck. clap

Hi Green,
Welcome aboard. I am a fiction writer, but isn't there always some amount of truth, even in fiction? Yes
