Yeah, that's right.  Big monsters, particularly giant bugs.

I'm getting ready to start shopping around my latest novel, Yeitso, which is about a giant bombardier beetle wandering the deserts around Los Alamos, New Mexico.  It's my tribute to the B-grade big bug movies of the 1950s that I grew up with as a kid.  And this book is unlike anything I've written before -- it contains no sex, no "f' words, and minimum gore.

I'm finishing up the query letter now and am researching potential publishers, but I just wanted to check with everyone here who might be able to recommend a good publisher who deals in this type of subject.

Thanks.

"As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic bombardier beetle..."

Awesome! 1950s bug movies rule. What publisher could resist??

I'm so there.   Grin

Without knowing your book well, it's hard to make suggestions. But I can recommend some databases where you can do research.

Start with the list of publishers on QT. You should also check out fiction publishers listed on the Poets & Writer database:

http://www.pw.org

And look at the publishers on Duotrope:

http://www.duotrope.com

Don't forget to cross-check all listings at P&E to make sure they're legit. Good luck! Sounds interesting.

Check out Candlemark and Gleam.  they are not a publisher in the QT database, but they are looking for some really unique ideas.  My project wasn''t right for them, but you might check them out.  They are a newer small press trying to fill a particular niche, they call it Fantastika.  My correspondence with them was great, and very professional.  Go for it!
