Thanks, Falen! It's my first published fiction that's not a humor piece.

Thanks, Swannie and ChokeCherry!

Definitely consider entering this month. The guy who runs the contest is really sweet.

Okay Edelweiss, the "fantastic" I previously offered was inspired by the fact that you'd entered and won the contest. Another "fantastic" is now arcing over the nation from my red-clay home in Virginia to your west coastal digs because I just read your entry and that was some fine, lively, rich, dreamy writing!! Thanks for the delicious dollop.

Stolen? If it's not nailed down, it's mine.

Wow!  That was excellent, edelweiss!  I really enjoyed it!  Well done.  Is it staying pat at 500 words or could you be enticed to elaborate?  Congratulations on winning - and the $500 is swell, too.  clap clap Kool-Aid Kool-Aid

Thanks, Zooks! Hmmm, I had thought about expanding it. I'm deep into my WIP, I guess.

On a related note, the judge commented that of all the prize winners and HMs, my story (at 405 words) was the only one not right at 500. I guess Brendalee's brother knows when he's done talking!

Yes, it's a nice reprieve from query rejections...

You should try the June-July contest!
