Sorry it wasn't the offer you were hoping for. I agree with others who've said that an R&R is still great. Sounds like your preferred option is to finish your WIP and then dive into the R&R--unless someone else snaps it up without asking for revisions. Did you discuss any kind of deadline with the agent? It's great that you agree w/ the agent's suggestion. I can see how it'd be frustrating to keep getting R&Rs on the same book, and to have some of them conflict, but it sounds like your ms must really have potential. Maybe *this* is the R&R that sticks. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Honestly, I think you should go with the R&R. If this agent called you on the phone, she's more than a little interested in the work. That's a lot of time out of her day to do that. She invested time in you - you should follow that lead.
Think of it this way: You're almost there. Doing the R&R doesn't prevent you from going back to your WIP right afterwards. You don't want to wait six months on this and have that agent forget all about her enthusiasm for the project.

For me, it all depends on how far i am in the WIP. For my R&R, i'm only halfway done with my WIP, so i set that aside for a few weeks. But that's me. I'm sorry it wasn't an offer like you hoped. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

dzolidis hit the nail on the head, IMO. I say put the WIP aside. This could be it for you. Take this opportunity before the agent's interest cools off. There will always be time later to continue your next project. Good luck to you.

I'd go for the R&R and wait on my WIP. If I had someone that interested AND I agreed with the suggestions, it would be worth the effort to try. If I hated the agent's suggestions, that would be another story. Best of luck with your decision.

I agree with Dscannon, White Gardenia and dzolidis. The agent is clearly very interested and if you like her suggestions then go for it! I think you're close!

I'm also going to weigh in with the others who suggest doing the R&R before finishing the WIP -- if it were me I'd do that. One bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and since you've still got more submissions out there, it will give you time to let those other responses roll in as well. Look at it this way, maybe you'll get an offer in the not-too-distant future and you won't have to do the R&R!

I agree...an R and R when it is not a major overhaul AND you agree...sounds like a win win. My bet is that when/if you do it, you may get an offer. Then after your celebration, you can go back to your new WIP. GL on whatever you decide.

Follow through with the R&R, by all means. You like the agent and agree with most of her suggestions. Opportunities come when they come, they can't be scheduled, and this is an opportunity to strengthen your MS and get one step closer to publication. Go for it.
I've always worked on multiple WIPs at once; it may not be ideal, but it is doable.
Good luck!

I agree with the last few comments--sounds like you are very close and since you do agree with the suggestions, and since from what i understand revision is expected even after representation, this is an opportunity you might regret not taking advantage of. Congratulations on getting the call.

Yeah, I've started revising. It just took awhile to get my motivation up. Thinking it'll take a month or two at the most, thankfully. Thanks for all of the support, everyone.
