Ah, nothing like the smell of a new realm of the QT boards!  So I have a question... Anyone familiar with NYC... specifically, I'm looking to know if there are parts of the transit (train cars like the subway or something) that run underground AND above ground.  I couldn't find anything either way on Google... Karma for answers!!    Thanks in advance for your help!

Sure they do.  The 1 train is an elevated line even in northern manhattan, then is below ground.  Also, many brooklyn trains are above ground in brooklyn and underground in manhattan.

Tradergirl is correct. The number 1 train just so happens to be the one that goes to my neck of the woods (da Bronx). There are many elevated lines in the boroughs and they all must go underground when they reach Manhattan.
