Maybe we should have a dedicated thread with links to books written by QTers.  That way, when somebody wanted a good book to read, they could go to that thread to browse.  I suppose authors should have the book blurb so we'd have an idea of what it's about.

Yes, we have a whole queue for people to post, but I think a sticky single thread with no extraneous posts, just the book links and blurbs, would make it easier to find.  It could be stickied under Success Stories.  Be books only (yay for everybody posting short/poetry acceptances, but zines are here today, and gone tomorrow).

Comment on this suggestion.
I LOVE this idea!  No pressure to buy, just a link with a blurb.  Do you think we should limit it to Hero members only?  Or Full members?  That way people couldn't use the site just to promote their book.  They would actually have to invest some time on the forum first.

That's a great idea Marva.  We could limit it to people who have success stories posted over on the main site, that should discourage spammers.

Right now though, I don't think there are any books available to purchase.  There will be soon, but due to the fact that it takes about a year from purchase to publication, and that QT has only been around for about a year, they haven't quite caught up.  There are plenty that will be published in 2009, but I don't know of any being released this year. Does anyone else know?

Patrick, I know for a fact that MarvaD has a book out. I own it and it's great. And I love this idea!
Oh, Tradergirl has one too that I soon will be purchasing!
So there's at least 2!

Ah.  Okay, only people who've snagged an agent.  Disappointed I am.  Getting a publisher doesn't count.  Oh, well.

I can see the point, Patrick.  This site is, after all, about getting representation.

Edited: Thanks Sarahjen, but the book to which you refer is a self-pub and I don't think it should be included.  I never mention that book in queries.  Of course, it's brilliant, funny, sad, everything a person could want, but self-pubbed means it's bupkis.  The book I'm using as my avatar (First Duty) was published by a small press, however.

Oh, I was thinking of books that got their query starts on QT, but you're right, there are probably plenty of regulars that published before QT.

OK, there is now a sticky topic in success stories for this.
