I see that there is a board for successes, but nothing for rejections.  Querying is such a crazy numbers game that  I think it might be nice to have a place to compare notes and to offer encouragement.   But I can also see how such a forum might turn nasty.

Hi Bodwen,
Some of that goes on over on the QT main site.  A lot of users will enter in their query experiences on each agent's profile.  It helps a lot to see what others are going through, some even enter entire rejection letters so you can see if what you got was a form letter or something unique.

We're all about keeping the nasty out of the forum.  I so relate to the desire to compare notes, but it will without a doubt go south.  Pat's right about the rejection sharing on the main site.  I'm a pretty positive person, but even I succumb to the dark side when discussing rejections.

Rejection needn't necessarily be a negative experience, if instead you can perceive it as one further step along the road to eventual acceptance and success. At least, that's how I chose to see it. (Maybe I should change my name to Pollyanna??)

Thumbs Up  Oooooooo.  I love your attitude, Aiala!  Karma point for that!  Welcome to QT.  You should go introduce yourself and what you write in the welcome thread so we can all greet you.

As for rejections, I agree with you wholeheartedly, but I've never seen a thread on any website yet about rejections that didn't result in agent bashing.  Just sayin'...

That's the way I see it too.  But it is sometimes hard to keep perceptive.  How many of us have said or heard.  "Darn, that's the third rejection in a row.   It must not be any good if three different people didn't like it.  I guess I'd better [rewrite the entire draft/find a vanity press/ just give up]."

OH - now your sing my song...that is how I get with every rejection....then I wait to see how i feel the next day.  I just recently had someone read a MS that I was certain would need a full overhaul....talking to them bout it may me fall in love with it all over again...Just gotta keep perspecitive on the negative piece I guess.  I remember first coming to this web site and reading something on this from one of the other qt-ers...theysaid it was the commonality of the rejection that brings us all together....it is how we know we are trying (Too many writers write something and stick it in a drawer never to be seen again)...I also think of that... clap
