Hospitals

My new project is going to be a horror/thriller with zombies and lots of characters. It starts out in a hospital with a slight twist, entire wings and floors are under strict armed guard. When the outbreak happens the entire place goes on lock down. All exits sealed ...
I was wondering if anyone works in a hospital, goes to one a lot .... something like that. What do you see? What is in the rooms, hallways, can the windows open, what kind of locks are on the doors, weapon [polices (like who is going to have the guns) ... just details of the things you see, smell, encounter ... Even just stories if you might have visited a hospital or had to spend time in one.
Any help would be wonderful.

Online first-person accounts of prisoners remanded to mental institutions would be helpful. I'm sure there are plenty of resources online. I'll look around when I get a chance. That would be the closest thing to what you are describing that exists in our country today.

I agree with looking for online information. Google hospitals in the state where you are and they may have images of them. I'm not trying to be funny but you should go visit one. I've worked in three and they were similar in some ways but in most they were different. I hope that this makes sense because its 3:12 a.m. and I should be sleeping!!
