Hang in there, Party. I lost count of the number of agents who were NOT interested, but it was a bunch. A whole bunch. But eventually, I signed with a bona fide NYC bigshot. It's like any relationship; you're looking for the right fit.

My memory isn't all that reliable, but I think I was on an agent search and stumbled across it.

I learned about Querytracker by contact with a local writer's group. The director of the group got me interested in checking out this site. It appears to be a good website for writers.

I saw it mentioned on Critique Circle, so when I started looking for beta readers/agents, I thought this would be a good place to look.

It's been six months since I started using QT, and I don't remember how I found it! Yikes! So much writing/publishing research went into finding all the literary sites I'm now a regular on. I've just recently started using the forums, though. It's been incredibly helpful!

Recommendation from the Writer's League of Texas. Man, what a gold mine this is for aspiring writers.

Thanks LTTP.  She was a sweet cuddly thing I met at Macaw Mountain in Honduras. It's a sanctuary for orphaned, injured, or abandoned tropical birds.  They fund their work through profits from their own coffee crops.

I found QueryTracker through the blog of an author who recently had her first book published!

Google search for "websites for writers" and it's been a fantastic resource since Day #1.  The input from other writers who have been there and done that was invaluable.  Thanks to great QT members, I defined and improved my MS, developed an effective query letter and synopsis and as a result signed with an agent who "gets" and loves my story.  BTW, I got the agent's info off QT.
