What's your opinion regarding long titles? My title is six words. I'm in love with it but wanted to know if anyone has strong opinions about longer titles?

It's going to depend on the book and the genre, to be honest.

I like long titles too. Most of my titles are two or more words. I dislike one word titles too. But with Long titles you do have to make sure it isn't clunky

I love long titles. One-word titles don't usually do it for me, but there have been exceptions.

I think there is a definite balance when it comes to titles. I'm glad that other people like long titles because I'm pretty fond of them. Have a great Friday evening!

FWIW, the working title on my WIP is a whopping 9 words (10 if you count both in a contraction): "If I Couldn't Breathe This Water I Would Drown."

Thank you both. It's such an abrupt change from my normal titles, I'm almost self conscious about it.

On the subject of long titles, I think it just depends on the words chosen. A one word title might catch my interest (examples:Pawn, Shattered, etc.) it just depends on the word chosen. I think long titles are neat because they can express a thought that might catch my attention (example:
"If I Couldn't Breathe This Water I Would Drown."
Thank you Mooky for your great example. BTW, sounds interesting.
