Another good idea hit me today. (Happens a lot when I procrastinate  Grin)

A REALLY good way to describe a place you've never been to is to find travel literature from authors who've gone there. They describe these places as an author would, and you can get a better picture. You just play with what they're getting at, and match it to your own book.

I've been having difficulty describing London, and I just found the most amazing link. For anyone who needs to describe London: http://users.bathspa.ac.uk/hy1028/hy1028-describing-london.htm. This here is gold.

The major part of the second book of my series is spent abroad, mainly in Spain an Asia...and I've never been to either of those, so I have no memories to use to describe the scenes...

Oh there we go. I was looking for one, but couldn't find it.

I'm having trouble finding online stuff for Paris, though. I'm going to a bookstore soon to see if I can find a good travelogue about it.

Chelc--do you write YA or MG? I know an editor at Penguin who has created a series based on a girl who goes overseas to study abroad.

It's either MG or YA.  I think I may have a list of the countries she is interested in. I think the series is called Study Over the Seven Seas.

Protag is always female, she should have a little romance on a foreign boy.  Details about the countries are important.

If you are interested, I'll find you the details.

I write YA, but I haven't started writing the sections spent in other countries, and I'm not in any rush for info. But I guess any info is better than none, so sure! Fire away with the details. ;)
