Great writer of sci-fi and fantasy, as well as other works.

Here is a letter she wrote to publisher Harcourt Brace Jovanovich in 1987,
declining and invitation to write a blurb for an all-male sci-fi anthology:

Ms. Le Guin was such an inspiration and loomed as a giant in my own personal reading choices. I cannot tell you how often I have mentioned or referred to The Left Hand of Darkness over the many years since I first read it. She is missed already!
