Hi, all.

My new nonfiction book, The Adjunct Underclass: How America's Colleges Betrayed Their Faculty, Their Students, and Their Mission, is going to be available in about two weeks from the University of Chicago Press. https://www.press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/A/bo26910456.html

But in a complete surprise, the Chronicle of Higher Education has excerpted a chunk of it in their weekly magazine, and that's drawn a HUGE amount of online commentary. https://www.chronicle.com/interactives/2019-03-27-childress. I'm getting tons of messages from people who have also felt discarded by the higher ed machine, and doing my best to respond to each. It's a broken culture, and there's a lot of injured folks out there...

And now, surprise number two: an extensive review of the new book in the New Yorker!

Holy crap!
