Did you laugh at their inital offer of a $500,000 advance and then watch them cave in to your demand for $1 million?  Also -- how long from when you started writing the book until you received an offer? What's the book about -- is your query letter posted anywhere? If you don't mind sharing, I'm curious about the details. |

My success story WAS on Query Tracker - but when I looked today, it wasn't there - not sure why.Also -- how long from when you started writing the book until you received an offer? With Nonfition, you write a proposal but do not need to have the book finished. The entire process from proposal query to my agent, to signed book deal was just under 4 months. I finished the book in that time as well - so I am working ith my editor on edits now.What's the book about -- is your query letter posted anywhere? The book is a parenting book about the social and emotional needs of gifted children. And like I said, the query "was" on QTIf you don't mind sharing, I'm curious about the details. |
