Computer savvy I am not! Computer Basher So I was a little confused when I received an out of office reply to a equery in my mailbox today. It was from Miriam Kriss and stated something to the effect that she will be out of the office until July 17th and won't be checking her email until then.

Now my question: Does this mean that she received my email? Or will I have to resubmit after the 17th?

Not sure how that works.  confused

I should probably just let someone else answer this because I'm not completely sure  Huh? But it sounds like your query is sitting in her box (otherwise the automated response wouldn't have made it to you) and that she'll attend to all of those when she gets back. But again, that's just my guess.

The automated response is just that.  It lets people know that she will take a while getting bak to you because she's not there.  Most email programs have options to set auto responses when you are away, so even you could do it, Senshi!  Show those agents that you could care less about their stupid responses.  Let them feel the frustration for a change! head bang  Actualy, that's not good advice.  Don't listen to that.  Anyway, you don't have to submit again, your email is in her inbox.

Ignore it. Your email is sitting there. That's just a notice for important people in their lives (which wouldn't be us.)
On an interesting note, when I sent my partial to Jessica Regel last night, the same night she sent her response to me, I got one of those.

Patrick's right. All the agents are on vacation. But some of them are checking and answering their email anyway.

If it makes you feel any better there are big thunderstorms on the way on the East Coast, so maybe the agents will be stuck inside reading through their queries.  Smiley

Of course they all may be stuck at the airport coming back from the book conference.
