Dear Ms. Agent,
I'm giving my website a complete overhaul and I've decided to add a news feed to my homepage. The only problem is that I don't have any news to announce. I was hoping that you'd consider signing me to your roster so I could announce it on my site.
I have a novel I've been working on... well, it's really more of a short story so far, but I think it has the potential to become a great series. It's called KABOOM, but it was originally called SHA-ZAM, and I've been advised to change it to HOY-OH. It's about a librarian. Let me know what you think.
I don't have a domain name yet, but I'll buy one as soon as my first royalty cheque arrives.
