THE WRITER'S GUIDE TO PSYCHOLOGY: How to Write Accurately About Psychological Disorders, Clinical Treatment and Human Behavior is now available! To celebrate, I'm on a blog tour, visiting several other QTers, including Christine Fonseca, Elana Johnson, and Mary Lindsey, later this week.

Interested in winning a signed copy of the book -- and a little swag?  Check out my Archetype Writing blog at http://archetypewriting.blogspot.com to find out how to win!

The book contains information on more than just straight psychology -- there are also tips on characterization and plotting, including ways to get your reticent characters to talk, and how to analyze your characters like a shrink!

In the meantime, I am thrilled to announce that the first reviews are in, and the New York Journal of Books (which did not just one but two reviews) loves it! "This book should be in every writer’s professional library and every clinician’s too—whether writers or not," writes the first reviewer. "Succinct and clear, never becoming too esoteric or theoretical for the layperson to understand, [Kaufman's] skill in the writing craft is clear as she entertains as well as informs the reader with her snappy and conversational style."  (http://tinyurl.com/nyjbwgtp1)

Adds the second reviewer, "Her depth of demonstrated knowledge in the field of psychology/psychiatry is extraordinary, particularly the methodology used to piece together the various components of the puzzle that makes this book a fascinating read... The style and information presented capture the reader from the first few pages of the book, leaving us wishing for more books by this captivating author."  (http://tinyurl.com/nyjbwgtp)

Yay!   I'm in.  Grin  I'd love to read your book!!!

Minor problem #1:  Your link above has too many http's in it.  embarrassed

Minor problem #2:  You posts don't start until waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the page.  eek  Like after all the sidebar stuff ends.  I think it may be a problem with your template?  (Blogger Template by Blogcrowds.)

Anyway, it makes your blog look, um, abandoned.

Huh, that was weird.  It took me a while to figure out that if you put the http information in, it duplicates it.  So I removed all http's and now it seems to be working!

Does anybody else have this problem?  This is the very first I've heard of it, so I'm wondering if it maybe is just not getting along with your computer?  What browser are you using, etc.?  I would like to figure out what's going on so I can fix it!  Thanks for letting me know...

I use IE 7.  I tried IE 8, but it messed things up, so I uninstalled it ages ago.  It might be just me?  crazy  I have no idea what might cause it.
