When I use the QT software I first select the genre of "Mystery" . . . then I check the little box that allows me to select out all agents who do not accept unsolicited queries. I love this list so far and I would hate for anything to happen to it. For the sake of this discussion, let's call this "List A". I'm afraid that if I tweak list A I will ruin it forever. I am therefore afraid to go to the next step and examine each agent and cull some out and create my own list. I am afraid that if I eliminate some entries from list A I will never again be able to look at the pure unaltered original List A again. Let me ask . . when I cull List A and select out my favorites and create what's called "My List" co I en effect create a new list we can call "List B?" Or am I bastardizing and changing the original "List A"? And if I am bastardizing and altering list A, can I ever get it back to its original pure condition?

Hi Umgowa, The original list will not change. As you correctly surmised, when you check the box to add an agent to your list, you are actually copying that listing to a second list (your own personal list).
One other things, I'm going to move this thread, and your earlier one, to the section for QT support. This area is actually used for questions pertaining to the forum itself.

Thanks, Patrick. Things like this really freak me out . . . . I'm so afraid then when I change things I will totally and permanently screw something up. So let me ask you . . . . when I create my new list, will it have a name or a special discrete icon which I can activate and view my newly created personal list? Put another way, once this second personal list is created and I log off, what do I do when I log back on to call up this new list? What do I do to call up the list I call "List A"? Thanks.

I am still trying to develop an agent list. If someone would answer my above question I would be eternally grateful. In the meantime I have another question. Over to the left of each agent's name there is an icon that looks like a round gear with sprockets. When you click it you get two options 1) disregard and 2) view agent's profile. I am scared to death of clicking on "disregard". I'm afraid it will make that agent's listing disappear from the lists forever. Could someone please tell me the purpose of the "disregard" option and what happens when you click it? Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

Hi Umgowa, If you are not a premium member, then you'll only have one query list therefore it doesn't need a name. It's just called your "Agent Query List". You can view it anytime by going to the "Agent" menu at the top of the page and then selecting "Agent Query List."
As for the disregard, don't worry, it doesn't make the agent disappear from the list. It just marks him/her with a special icon so you know that you don't consider that agent a match for you.

Patrick. First, thank you for your patients with a technically challenged person . . Your comments have emboldened me to experiment with the software but as I feared I have clicked myself into a pickle I just can't get out of. I clicked on that circular gear to the left and clicked on the "disregard" option. This created a big "X" next the particular agent. In trying to undo this action I got instructions that totally confuse me . . IT says "To modify the query status, click the status icon beneath the cursor." Huh? I could find nothing that said "status" therefore could find no "status icon". Also in my world the cursor is the little thing I move around the screen. It is a totally independent variable in the equation . . therefore I could put it anywhere. To tell me to locate something beneath it (when I could place it anywhere on the screen) absolutely confuses me. Could you please help me. I'm dying to use this software. Thanks.

I think I figured out how to solve my problem. To undo the clicks that I made, here is what the instruction language should say: Go over to the right and find the agent whose status you want to change, click on that agent and go to the agent fact pate. Over to the left on this page you will see a box with the current status of that agent. Here you will have the opportunity to change the status and undo the clicks that you made on the first page of agent listings. This is far clearer than "click the status icon beneath the cursor."
