Genre-Agent Report
This report allows users to select a genre and then view a list of agents who were sent queries for that genre, and the results of those queries.
Click any column heading (including the icon headings) to sort the list by that column.
The numeric columns contain the following information:
This column shows the number of queries which were sent to each agent for the selected genre.
This column shows the number of queries which were accepted* by each agent for the selected genre.
This column shows the number of queries which were rejected* by each agent for the selected genre.
%
This column shows the percentage of queries which were accepted* by each agent for the selected genre.
%
This column shows the percentage of queries which were rejected* by each agent for the selected genre.
Why is this important? You can look up the genre(s) you write and locate agents who have accepted the most queries for that genre. This would indicate that that particular agent
is actively seeking manuscripts of the chosen genre.
Here’s an example: You are a mystery writer looking for an agent who represents mysteries.
Many agents claim to rep mystery, but how interested are they really? Using the Genre-Agent report, you can see a list of all the agents who were sent mystery queries.
Now you can find the agent who has requested the most partial/full reads for mystery,
thus pinpointing agents who are truly interested in that genre.
*
Accepting a query means the agent requested to read all or part of the manuscript after reading the query.
* Rejections after a manuscript reading are not counted since this is an indication
of the manuscript quality and not the quality of the query.
