Bill is an award-winning filmmaker, an author and artist.  He has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, American Pickers, How the States Got Their Shapes, NPR’s All Things Considered, several documentaries and national radio shows plus four feature films including John Sayles' Matewan.  He has also been quoted in the New York Times, USA Today and other national publications.  His films are being used as teaching tools in such prestigious universities as Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, Marquette, Penn State and others.  His publication credits include short stories, articles, graphic novels and the book, The Appalachians: America’s First and Last Frontier by Random House.
