About QueryTracker

Let QueryTracker tell you more about this publisher. Including...

  • Query Response Times
  • Genres of Interest
  • Preferred Manuscript Lengths
  • The Best Time to Query
  • And More
And best of all, it's FREE.

How it works?

Writers provide data about their query experiences with publishers.

That data is then compiled into reports showing details about each publisher's query history, allowing writers to reach the publisher that is right for their work.

Why is QueryTracker Free?

QueryTracker is free because it is our goal to collect as much data as possible about query letter results.

To do that, we need as many members as possible to submit their data, and the best way to do that is to make it free.

So please, join us in building the web's largest collection of query data.

Publishers, please contact us to make any changes to your profile.

Always verify publisher's information before sending your query. Verify the publisher's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the publisher is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for publisher information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the publisher's website.

Carina Press is an imprint of Harlequin. Below is what Preditors and Editors says about Harlequin. In all fairness, most of this mess (except the entry for July 21, 2012 regarding complaints on royalty payments) was several years back, (2009) but we all need to check publishing companies out thoroughly.

From "Preditors and Editors":

Harlequin Enterprises: Not recommended. A book publisher.

11/17/09: Harlequin becomes vanity publisher. Though they call it self-publishing, it will be under their Harlequin Horizons imprint and hence qualifies as vanity.

11/19/09: Mystery Writers of America (MWA) asks Harlequin for an answer about Harlequin's recent activities while indicating that MWA recognition of Harlequin is at stake.

11/19/09: Romance Writers of America (RWA) says no to Harlequin special status.

11/20/09: Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) says no to Harlequin's vanity activities.

21 Jul 12 - Harlequin Enterprises being sued in a class action case involving ebook royalties by several authors. Here's a link to the complaint.

And the rejection came today. A bit sad about it. Had a good feeling. Oh well.
