I have been cheering for that manuscript too! I love mysteries, so it's nice to know there will be a great one coming out.

I've had the same thought about gatekeepers. It feels like some agents (not Sabrina) request freely and use that as a kind of placeholder/quality control so they'll be notified when an offer of rep comes in. I understand it as a strategy, given that they're so busy, but it does make the waiting really difficult.
