Full request rejected after a couple of weeks. No comments, but at least he didn't keep me waiting forever.

Went over the MS completely over the last two weeks and found some broken hyperlinks--fixed those and made some other minor edits. Emailed the revised file today. I sure don't miss taking my manuscript boxes to the P.O. to mail out at the media rate.

Overnight request for Proposal and full ms. Mr. de Spoelberch has only seen my query letter, which I've honed and edited again and again for months. I'm happy and humbled--this is the agent who repped "Deliverance."!

Email query: 05/25/2021 (Western/Action/Adventure/Historical)
Request for full manuscript: 05/28/2021
Email submission: 05/28/2021
Email rejection: 06/08/2021 -- Mr. de Spoelberch's reply was both gracious and encouraging, saying he regretted he didn't think he would be my novel's best agent advocate. He gave a suggestion for improvement, for which I am grateful.

Got a very prompt request to read the manuscript, delay due to internet outages (though actually, it didn't seem too delayed to me), and then a very kind, very flattering rejection. Sadly, my MS was on the same topic as another he's repping. But he was very kind and very encouraging, and I was grateful for his professionalism.

EQ: 3 July 2020
FR: 4 July 2020
July 12 - phone call with interest and revision notes, but no official offer of representation
July 15 - informal email agreement to move forward but no mention of contract
Aug 11 - phone call discussing final revisions and contract to be sent, so now I guess it's finally official! (I will truly celebrate once I sign the contract though) (:

He is very prompt, kind, and professional in his replies - note his internet has been down for over a week now so he is behind in all his emails.

Good luck to everyone out there; it only takes one agent. Remember good work gets rejected all the time and persistence is often the ultimate deciding factor for success - keep going!
