Submitted 153,000 word science fiction novel on 4/21/2021. I screwed up and used my personal email, told him to disregard that letter, and sent again with my work email. Here's hoping he gets the right one and i didn't screw it up.
Got response on 4/28/2021- nice form rejection letter. He responded on time like he said on his website, so that's a plus

Submitted fantasy/crime July 2020. When I nudged in August, he said he hadn't received it and asked me to resubmit. Rejection said that it didn't grab his imagination.

16-9-19. Got a very nice rejection letter (if such a thing exists!). Sad that Robin did not feel energised with the story enough to represent me, but he seems like a very genuine guy and I'll definitely be trying him again with future work. Quick turnaround with both the query and full.

A form-like letter, but somewhat personalized as he apologized for being out of the office for a few days so that the response took longer than he expected.

Thank you, digger. For some reason, British agencies can be very secretive about exactly what genres they're interested in.

Several comments below about genres - their website (not sure if this is a recent change) states: "We are actively looking for new writers across the board, both general and genre fiction and non-fiction"

I interpret that to mean they are open to ANY genre. The only specific exclusions listed are "books for children, poetry, plays, screenplays and short stories".

I really do prefer agents who take the time to send a rejection letter. I know many agents are just too busy to do this, however, it is nice to at least know it is a NO.

Also one of the better form rejection letters. Put my first name in and the stock standard rejection is:

Many thanks for your kind words and for sending us this proposal, which I read with interest. I considered it carefully but I’m afraid on balance it just doesn’t quite grab my imagination in the way that it must for me to offer to represent you. So I must follow my instinct and pass on this occasion. I’m sorry to be so disappointing, but thanks for thinking of us. Of course this is a totally subjective judgement, so do try other agents and I wish you every success.

Kind regards

Where on their website does it say they don't do Fantasy or Romance?
