jancoates, she will take PBs, but only if you are an illustrator AND author. She is not interested in just illustrators or just authors.

The Greenhouse site says she's closed to debut PBs, but does sell PBs for clients who also write MG or YA.

Mine's barely a week old, but she recommends you requery if you haven't heard anything in six weeks.

Hey, Crabapple! I was wondering the same thing. I haven't, if that's any help!

Sarah was SO kind and helpful, telling me exactly what she liked and didn't like about the ms. Definitely the best rejection I've gotten.

Is anyone else waiting on a January query?? I sent mine on Jan 30, and I still haven't heard a peep. I know she sometimes takes longer, but... but...

Okay, update: she took like 40 days with my query because she had really liked the premise, so she put it aside to read again (so yeah, having her take longer is actually a good thing). She ended up rejecting, though, because the writing style wasn't for her.

And thanks westhill!

Monita, I've seen interviews with her where she mentions that she sometimes responds later to queries she likes--she goes through the quick rejections first, then saves the potential yeses to read the pages when she has more time. Good luck to you, hope you are one of the yeses.
