Submitted query email 1/1/19
Response 1/2/19 polite, helpful rejection
Thanks for getting in touch. You & your new book sound interesting.
I don't think I can be of help, at least not now, as I'm only able to take on new clients with a following of 50K or more (or the equivalent via regular media appearances, etc.)
Once that happens please feel free to check back in, in the unlikely event you have not found another agent.
However you proceed, I wish you all the best!

Patrick, maybe the Genres page should be updated to remove "Biography and Memoir" and "Religion and Spirituality" -- her website says:

LKLA will not respond to queries outside of these areas of specialty.
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT fiction, children's, Christian, spirituality, or memoir.
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT nonfiction queries unless the book is written by or with a top expert in his or her field.

Rejection came in a few hours. She doesn't keep you hanging, which is good. I do wonder, though, how agents are able to judge so quickly the worth of a query or manuscript.

Submitted snail mail sept 23, received rejection sept 30.

Personal note: "Thank you so much for getting in touch, but this isn't something I wish to take on right now. Best of luck. Linda Konner." Nice that she took a moment to hand write this note.

24 hour rejection:
Thanks, but I handle only nonfiction. Best of luck.

I sent a narrative memoir

Responded super fast! Was rejected, but for good reason, she already represented someone with a book like mine. I recommend trying to get her attention. A "no" response is better than no response at all, I think.
