Does anyone know if she jumps around with her queries? I sent one earlier this month and still haven't heard back, but I see some on here who queried after me have already received responses. Should I send a follow up email? I don't usually do that this early, but I also don't want to get lost in the slush pile.

6/6/2017: 4 days from query to rejection: "Thanks so much for sending along the sample pages of [title]. I’m sorry to say, though, that I just wasn’t as completely drawn in by the material as much as I had hoped. What with my reservations, I’d better bow out. Thanks so much for contacting me, though! I really appreciate it, and wish you the best of luck."

maryj59 - I got pretty much the same rejection letter, though it is a kind one.

Well, I got the same result. E-mail rejection. Maybe slightly personalized? (I thought it was a lovely letter, but still feel crushed.) Here's the letter:

Dear Mary:

Thanks for sending along the opening pages of Honor: A Sword Against the Gods . Truth be told, I'm afraid these pages just didn't draw me in as much as I had hoped. I'm pressed for time these days and, what with my reservations about the project, I suspect I wouldn't be the best fit. Thanks so much for contacting me, though, and for giving me this opportunity. It's much appreciated, and I'm sorry to be passing. I wish you the very best of luck in your search for representation.

Best,

Andrea
