Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Just received a polite form rejection on a query I sent in January. Always a bit surprised to get a response after such a long wait, but I'm always impressed when agents make time to respond, especially those who receive a high volume of queries. =)

MG Fantasy.

She apologized for the long response time and gave a short, polite rejection that it didn't quite fit their list.

Picture book text "that doesn't fit her list".
What's this so-called list? Lol. A magical list of desired texts we'll never know of? Lol!

Hmmm ... no responses since 2/11, apparently. Anyone know whether it would be acceptable to submit to another person at this agency if Rachel hasn't responded to my query after 8 weeks? I'm not sure what the etiquette is.

Sounds more like an 'at the same time' type thing. Do not query multiple agents at the same time, or they will toss it out. Unless the page says, a no from one agent means a no from all because they pass it along, then I'd assume once you get a rejection, the others are fair game....

Huh. that must be new because i've queried more than one of them in the past.

seems they don't want you to query multiple agents -at all?
