Thank you for your letter. From your description, I don't believe I'd be the right agent for this project. I'm sorry to have to pass on the opportunity to read your work, and wish you the best of luck.

Sincere apologies for not being able to answer more personally; given the volume of queries, it is simply not possible.

Yours,

Victoria Pryor

They want exclusive submission of an author's work - I don't think so.

Fast response, mildly personalized rejection in that my name was actually in the letter. Polite and fast, which is nice.

Rejection arrived one day after submission of the query. This shows respect for the person submitting the query instead of some of the ones who never write back at all.

R- same day, which is nice, because I have no problem with someone getting back to me this quickly, if the project is not for them. I wish there was more but am grateful for a rapid response rather than one that drags on for weeks and months:

If she does not represent fiction than why did she just request my full manuscript?

Thank you for your interesting letter. If you can email the complete novel as a Word attachment, I'd be delighted to read. If what's on the screen is as intriguing to me as it is to you, we'll take it from there.

I look forward to hearing from you.

All best,

Victoria Pryor
