Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

This is sad news. He'll be crossed off on my list.

"We're cutting back on fiction" when his website's "Note to authors" says that they are actively looking for fiction.

I wished him luck with whatever the hell he was, in fact, doing.

EQ:12/31 10:38 - Havana's Secret - Historical Fiction
Rejected by Warp Drive thirty minutes later - "Sorry, not right for us at this time. (We're cutting back on fiction.) Thanks, though, and all best elsewhere."

Sheesh - longer to search the web site and write up the query to make sure I included the right stuff. Wow!

On 2/14, I've sent him a snail mail query. Today I've heard back from him. He wrote on my query, that he wasn't for him, and that he's cutting back on fiction. Backlog maybe? Oh well.

7/12-same day rejection for Chain Reaction. He said it's something they won't come across to pursue at this time, and yes, they're cutting back on fiction. Oh well.

Same day eject for our cookbook query.

Thanks for the query, but I'm afraid this doesn’t come across as something that we’d want to pursue at this time. Good luck, though, in finding the appropriate agent and publisher

It is much easier to sell nonfiction than fiction. Guess he's figured this out.
