Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

I have accepted an offer of representation from Evan Marshall. We have spoken on the phone at length and emailed numerous times now, and I find him to be very professional and enthusiastic -- and he made a very strong editorial suggestion that I think improved my book.

The book is a historical murder mystery called "The Bloody Black Flag," and is the first in a projected series.

My pleasure, Steve. Good luck with the R&R. I ended up with crickets, twice from him.

Thanks, Kristen.

Yesterday, I got a very enthusiastic reply regarding my manuscript, and he and I have discussed some revisions that can improve the book. His suggestions make sense, and I am confident I can work his ideas into the book.

The plan is for me to revise and re-submit, but he thinks that, based on my MS, I ought to be able to make the revisions work.

It is not an offer of representation, but it is very, very encouraging!

The book is a 75K historical mystery-thriller, but may grow a bit in the revisions.

Congrats Steve, I've gotten silent no responses from him on my requeries.

3/8/16--On 2.5.16, I've requeried Evan with Chain Reaction, After a two week nudge, I've closed him out as CNR.

On 12/9/15, I've requeried Evan with Venom. Two weeks ago, I've nudged him before the holiday break. He's now CNR with no word. I'll try him next month with Chain Reaction.

He says on his site that he is open to queries, so I tried him today. I will let everyone know the result!

On 4/19, I've sent him my query for Chain Reaction. Heard back from him today: same as last fall--"no new clients."
