Hmmm, I sent a query letter in February. Does anyone know if they are an agency that passes around query letters?

Took about a month before I received my rejection. He just posted that he's going on paternity leave and will be closing to submissions for several months, beginning in June.

I previously received a rejection from Sandy Lu so I hope I'm not committing a cardinal sin by submitting to Mr. Grange. I always get confused by websites that say to submit only one manuscript to only one agent at an agency at a time. I'm never certain if that's a "no from one means no from the agency" unless I see those exact words. Sigh. Here's hoping I don't get blacklisted.

I noticed that Ben Grange is usually fast to reject queries. I submitted my query on 3/04 and have not heard from him. I received no email in my inbox nor junk mail. Should I nudge him or does he sometimes take longer to respond to queries?

Form:

Thank you so much for the opportunity to consider your work. I make a point to read every query addressed to me, and consider each with an open mind. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm the right agent for this manuscript, and I have to pass here. I apologize for the necessity of this form response, but the volume of queries I receive makes it impossible to respond individually to each of them.

Publishing is a very subjective business; what one agent rejects might be exactly what another agent is looking for, so I encourage you to keep at it! Best of luck with this and your future creative work.

Hi Azalea,
When you say "did not go through" what do you mean? Did the email bounce back? If so, did it mention a reason?

I ask because I sent an email to him last month and he replied, so it was working then. Most often, the cause is either the agent's inbox is full, or there was something about your query that was mistaken for spam.
