How do you know this? I just met her at a writers conference and she asked me to submit my novel to her, and I did. So you can see why I'm asking.

I queried Jennifer Lyons on 5/26, and the next day (on a Sunday and holiday weekend), I got a full request from Lucinda!

5/27: FR from Jennifer forwarding my query to Lucinda.
5/27: Lucinda confirmed receipt of full.
7/16: Gave her a nudge to update her on the agents who requested a full the past week, she responded back at 2 in the morning on her personal email address to thank me for letting her know. I was impressed by her very late night/early morning response, even though she gave me no hint or indication of how much she read or if she even started reading at all, lol, which I find kinda frustrating, actually. But I guess it's better than a CNR or rejection?
9/15 CNR, gonna just move on/forget about it if I don't hear from her by 10/1. This agent/agency seems to request so many fulls only to not get back to you on them, unless you nudge, and even in that case, you're left hanging.

So, honestly, not sure if they're even worth it, by how they string authors along like this and how they clearly just don't read fulls or take nudges seriously. Query Lucinda and this agency at your own risk. They request fulls and don't read or prioritize them, and not to mention, on the whole this agency seems to not be actively and aggressively selling and releasing books. Their list is impressive, but that alone isn't enough if this is how they run their business.

** Update **

Ultimately found my agent, by October. I never did hear back from Lucinda, didn't bother letting her know that I had an offer of rep because I figured it would be a waste of my time since she wasted enough of my time already.

Again, query her and this agency at your own risk.

Literary Fiction, 70k
Rejection: 7 days

I appreciate the opportunity to consider this, but I don’t think I’m the best agent for it. I wish you success in finding the right agent for your work.

Laury5. what did the form say? I'm trying to figure out if mine was a form letter. She wrote on mine, "Despite its obvious merits, and in all subjectivity, I was not drawn into the book the way I would need to be to represent it fairly so I will pass."

5/31 EQ and 50 pages, 5/31 rec'd request for full/sent that day.
Sent nudges and resent ms. 12/13. Received apology and said she would print it out that week and read.
Nudge 2/16: no response.
Nudge 3/6: another apology and said she would print out 50 pages and read on the way home. (She had already read 50 pages on May 31.) I notice on her timeline she hasn't read other requested mss., either, unless writers aren't logging in rejections. Don't know what to think!
Today, 3/8/2018, Lucinda wrote to reject the ms. after reading the first 50 pages (which, presumably she had read back in May and then asked for the full). Writing was fine just couldn't get into the novel, i.e., a semi-form response. Almost 10 months of time...

Received a confusing form rejection from assistant 65 days after I submitted my query to Lucinda Karter:

"Thank you for sending along your query and for your patience while we reviewed the proposal. We regret, however, that we are not able to offer representation for this work."

The reason I'm confused is because I had written Lucinda Karter off as a CNR when more than 50 days had passed since I sent my query. About two weeks later, I sent a different query (same title of manuscript) to another agent there, assuming Lucinda K was not interested. This rejection doesn't mention either agent's name, only the name of the agency. So I don't know whether the rejection is from one or both agents. For now, I guess I'll assume it refers to Lucinda Karter.

EQ: May 31
ER: July 26 Form from same tired intern as Catsamoa79's. They misspelled the novel's title, but at least they included it--always appreciated! :)

Nice to get a response, obviously not a form. Must have been a tired intern or something. Read for yourself. A double negative equals a positive? Ha ha ha....

Dear Laura,

Thank you so much for sending along your query an for your patience while we reviewed the proposal. We reject, however, that we are not able to offer representation for Always Hope.
