Very nice response from Ms. Eth confirming something I feared wasn't enough (my social media presence) and confirming something I had my head in the sand about (my writer cred). I responded I appreciated her insight and would heed same and contact her again once I got the last piece in order and she responded "definitely". I'm pretty thrilled with any stranger throwing me a literary bone of advice.

"Though I agree with you that there is s need for White Americans to open up to the institutional injustices which our country is promoting I still worry this is going to be s tough sell to the commercial publishers with whom I work. Your social media presence is obviously fine, but what's missing is any writer's credibility. I think you need to try to publish some pieces first - whether OpEds in
Well- regarded newspapers, articles in established magazines ( sure Atlantic would be great but so would Pacific Standard) or long pieces inline in huffPo or Salon or any number of other places. This seems key to me before taking a next step forward with a book. If you get that piece in place the project would be much more attractive to me- and no doubt others."

supernatural mystery; she said she could see the appeal for others but it wasn't right for her.

EQ 11/4/16--Same day rejection for Diplomatic Immunity. She said my query sounded strong, but since it deals with Canadian politics, she suggested to try Canadian publishers/agents, since she didn't know the market. That's something I'll keep in mind for next year. I'll try her in 2017 with another manuscript.

Nice note, at least acknowledging:
"thanks this doesn't seem for me despite having dealt with other death books; Better luck with others."

Literary: Actual personalized rejection. So unusual.

Certainly a different premise, but not the right match for my small list, especially when I'm taking on few new novels .

Yestrerday I've requeried Felicia Eth with Chain Reaction and got back the same response from sincerelyamelia--not drawn to it, taking little new fiction.

Same day rejection from Felicia Eth--she passed on my requery at 9:10 PM last night. Though she reps thrillers, she said it's not what she's looking for. I'll try her later this late May with Chain Reaction.
