Title: Mark Malatesta
Post by: paulwest on January 12, 2012, 12:12:22 PM
Does anyone know this guy? He calls himself "Literary Agent Undercover." His web site and email messages say he used to be an agent but is now trying to help writers get published. What he doesn't say is what the cost is, or does he have some other way of getting paid? He also doesn't say why he's no longer a literary agent.

Has anyone heard of him?

I've never heard of him, and according to PM he has never sold a book.

He could be legit, but it sounds like a scam. "Undercover" doesn't scream "on the up-and-up" to me.

I just checked out his website... and I suppose he might have some legit credentials, but I'd bet good money that they aren't as high-profile as he'd like us to believe.

That whole site shouted "stay far away" to me.
