We all have different tastes, but thought I would start a thread where we can share songs that inspire us and make us want to create. Maybe we stumble upon some new favs too :)
My top songs that give me inspiration at the moment:
1. Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQvZ4N1RfS8 - video is great for inspiration too)
2. Comsat Angels - Lost Continent (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92oKgkgoUPo)
3. Lloyd Cole And The Commotions - Lost Weekend (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqCPRGnrBqQ)
4. Dwight Yoakam - A Thousand Miles From Nowhere (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb7Nzs0fmL8)
5. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Something Good Coming (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSvlJe1mwlw)
6. Jimmy Eat World - 555 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU-TZiVVaTE - video is great for SF inspiration. Any Jimmy Eat World is great for feeling)

My secret sauce for creativity is jazz. Everything from the classics (I'm a big fan of John Coltrane) to the modern (John Schofield). Here is a low-key performance that never fails to inspire ... superstar jazz bassist Richard Bona from Cameroon, with French drummer Manu Katche, Belgian keyboardist Eric Legnini and Italian saxophonist Stefano di Battista (the concert starts about a minute in, the audio/video quality is superb):

I've not really given jazz much of a shot for writing. I will play that video later this morning when I write and see how it goes.
If I create a best seller as a result I will dedicate it to you :D
