Not a success in the true sense, but a sorta success none the less.
Okay, I just received the nicest (I think rejection) email for my novel. Here it is...
Hello Abi2K,
Thank you for sending this my way. This does sound promissing but it reminds me of Harry Potter and while that is usually a good thing, I've had trouble with books in the past because of that and I already have a similarly themed project. I do, however, like you writing and feel that this is promissing even from the first few chapters.
Best,
-Nicholas
I'm thinking I should feel good about sending him a query for book number 2 when I finish it.

that's really nice!

Did he spell promising wrong twice? Sounds like he liked it but might not be able to place it. Maybe he just doesn't know the right editors.
Coll :)

Keep pluggin along Abi! :koolaid:

I think this deserves a big congrats Abi! Sounds like he really liked it and would have taken it if he didn't have the other similar project. Even though this is a rejection in the 'true' sense of the word, overall, I don't think it really is. Way to go and best of luck with the next query!!

Promising, indeed!
-
Yeah, Abi... Definitely put this one atop your list for Novel 2.0!
Congrats on the positive rejection??
Whew. Publishing is puzzling.

Woot. Good job Abi! :) Even if it's a rejection, it's a foot in the door and a step in the right direction.

Thanks guys! Lege...that's my first Woot!...yeah
