Title: Should I nudge?
Post by: Alniah on February 01, 2011, 05:24:51 PM
I never know when to nudge anymore. I know the whole 3 month/partial and 6 month/full but the last two nudges I sent got me no response  :sad2: (putting those agents into the 'rejection pile').

I got a request for a full and the email stated that the agent usually responded within 4-6 weeks. It is now almost week 8 and still no word. The past 30 days show that she responded within 10 days. If I search before that timeframe, she took between 8.5-11.5 weeks.

Would ya'll nudge?

If they say 4-6 wks and it's almost 8, go ahead.  That happened to me and was asked for a bit more time.   Good luck to you, Alniah. :koolaid:

If they stated their response time would be 4-6 weeks, a small nudge shouldn't be out of line. Good luck. The thought of nudging always makes me anxious. I feel your pain.

Congrats on getting the full out there. I might possibly have another spate of sending out queries before nudging. If you can get back to them saying, I now how several fulls out, and I'm wondering where I stand with the manuscript, it might prompt them to reply faster.

GOOD LUCK!!

I sent a partial in march 2010 - I nudged in September. Nothing. He could at least say no thanks, you know?

Sorry to hear that Kimmy, did you nudge again since?
